The Peer Helper Program includes 5-6 students selected from grades 10, 11 and 12 respectively. These students have indicated a desire to become a part of the program and have been identified by their peers as having the ability to reach out to and help others.

At St. Charles High School, Peer Helpers are involved in providing peer listening/helping to other students, mentoring, conflict mediation & resolution, new student orientation, and participating in the Big Buddy program for elementary students. Training and support are provided to Peer Helpers in small support group meetings and in large group training sessions held once a month. In addition, peer helpers must participate in an annual retreat held in September.

The advisors to Peer Helpers are Jeremy Hildman and Theresa Nunemacher.
