COVID-19 District Information and Resource for Families
While the information seems to be changing daily, and experts are learning more every day, this page will provide links and address COVID-19 concerns for District families. Find communications from St. Charles Public Schools for our families.

While the District really appreciates the community volunteer requests and food donations the State of Minnesota Department of Education has guidelines in place that don't allow Districts to accept volunteers or food donations. HOWEVER:  If you'd like to donate food please consider contributing to the Resource Center as the Food Pantry remains open to public. Please see Resource Center website here to learn more.

Free Meals
Free Meals during COVID-19 State Shutdown Period for St. Charles Public Schools children ages 18 and under
St. Charles Public Schools received notification from the Minnesota Department of Education that our student meal waiver is approved. This means regardless if your family qualifies for Free and/or Reduced Price Lunch we are able to provide FREE meals to all children 18 and under in households where at least one child attends St. Charles Public Schools during the state mandated closure of our schools.  Meals will be served on student days only per our District Calendar.  Click here to access the 2019-2020 District Calendar.

If you are already signed up and receiving meals for your children you will be able to continue to do so for the duration of the shutdown period on days school was scheduled to be in session.  You do not need to sign up each day.  Once you are in the system, you are in the system.  If you elect to decline the service after initially signing up, you will need to submit a new registration.

If you have not signed up for the meal program yet, we encourage you to sign up so that your children can take advantage of this opportunity. New registrations for the week of March 30-April 3 need to be submitted by 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Signing up will result in the following:

  • 2 FREE healthy cold meals per day (breakfast and lunch) will be provided for your children during the shutdown period; and
  • The meals will be provided on days that school was originally scheduled to be in session.

Meals can be picked up on days that school was scheduled to be in session at the Elementary School, 925 Church Avenue, St. Charles, MN 55972, from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Broadband and Telephone Service During Pandemic
On March 12, 2020, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) specifically asked Broadband and Telephone Service Providers and Trade Associations to ensure that Americans do not lose their broadband or telephone connectivity during the COVID-19 Pandemic by taking the Keep Americans Connected Pledge.  The Pledge reads as follows:
