Would you love to help children grow their reading or math skills and succeed in school? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps at St. Charles Elementary.   Whether you want to explore a career in education, re-enter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can be a child’s hero as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps provided direct services to more than 35,000 children in more than 900 sites across the state.
 

Reading Corps Tutor:

Make a difference in your community and join our team as a Reading Corps Tutor. St. Charles Elementary is looking for tutors to help students who need extra help with reading.

Reading tutors meet one-on-one with students in kindergarten through third grade to help them become better readers. With training and on-site coaching, we’ll prepare you to help kids succeed.

This is an AmeriCorps member position with Reading Corps. Together, we’re on a mission to help more kids become strong readers because kids who read have the power to succeed!
 

Math Tutor

Make a difference in your community and join our team as Math Corps Tutor. St. Charles Elementary is looking for tutors to help students build essential math skills.

Math Tutors meet in small groups with students in elementary or middle school and provide extra practice and skill building to help students improve core math skills. With great training and on-site coaching, we’ll prepare you to help kids succeed.

This is an AmeriCorps member position with Math Corps. Together we’re on a mission to help students build a strong foundation with math because math multiplies a student’s future opportunities!
 

Perks as A Tutor

  • Paycheck every two weeks

  • Up to an additional $5,100 for college tuition or student loans. (Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child.)

  • Child care assistance (based on family size and income)

  • Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment

  • Predictable schedule – daytime hours with no evenings or weekends
