2024 SPRING TESTING

ST. CHARLES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The St. Charles Public Schools continually assesses student performance to provide parents and

staff with the data needed to make informed instructional and educational decisions. We use

different measures to chart your child’s and our district’s educational progress. Several

assessments are given district-wide. However, these types of measures do not always paint the

entire picture of a child. Every day, teachers observe and use classroom evaluations that also

help us more fully understand your child’s academic strengths and weaknesses. The Minnesota

Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) is one measure the district uses to measure educational

progress in our district / school and is used to meet the state and federal requirements. These

state tests are given to students in a district once a year, based on their grade level and subject

area. The range of dates that students will be taking the MCA are listed below.
